Privacy Policy

Overview

Our website does not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) or personal data (PD) as you browse pages, nor cause your browser to transmit either PII or PD to any third parties. We record page views anonymously through Google Analytics. This site provides email addresses and request forms you can use to contact us, which will transmit PII/PD to the Firm. Your use of those features will be understood to indicate your consent to the collection and use of that data by the Firm.

If you have any questions or suggestions about this notice, or believe it may have been violated, please write us at jscher@carrferrell.com or Jefferson Scher, Carr & Ferrell LLP, 120 Constitution Drive, Menlo Park, CA 94025.

Google Analytics and Web Server Logging

We use Google Analytics (GA) to record statistics on use of our site. We instruct GA to anonymize your IP address so that no data recorded by GA can be identified to a particular person. (See Google's article "IP Anonymization in Analytics") GA uses an anonymous identifier (a random number plus a timestamp) to connect individual pages views so we can more accurately count the number of unique visitors. This identifier is stored in a cookie used only by GA, not by the Firm. You can opt-out of GA cookies using your browser's cookie settings, or using an add-on from Google (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/).

As you use the site, the server software records various information automatically supplied by your web browser such as the IP address of your computer, a session cookie set by the server software and, if you clicked a link to arrive at this site, the address of the page containing the link. The same non-personal information is recorded if your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Email Addresses and Contact Forms

This site provides email addresses and request forms you can use to contact us, which will transmit PII/PD to the Firm. Your use of those features will be understood to indicate your consent to the collection and use of that data by the Firm. Your name, email address, and other information you send us may be used to contact you now and in the future with messages, including information about our services, events, and developments in the law. If you would like to be deleted from any database or mailing list, or if we have recorded your information in error, please let us know so we can update our records.

Scope and Updates

This notice does not apply to any sites operated by others that you visit using links on this site. The Firm may update this notice at any time, and the changed notice will be made available on our site. By using the site, you signify your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to periodically review this notice so you know how we are protecting your information.
